FEDORA's Activities

"We are delighted to announce that the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission has renewed its support for the FEDORA Platform, enabling us to continue to serve emerging artists and the renewal of opera and dance. We pursue our efforts at a time when, now more than ever, culture has a vital role to play in Europe and traditional funding models are increasingly strained.” states our new President Stéphane Argyropoulos.

This announcement marks the EU’s renewed recognition since 2017 of the work carried out by our platform in collaboration with the entire sector to nurture innovation and encourage transformation on, behind, and beyond the stage. These efforts are essential to our goal of making the art forms more accessible and renewing audiences. The €2.8 million awarded to our organisation until 2028 enable us to continue supporting artistic innovation by collaborating with 37 opera houses across 16 countries and over 60 partner institutions.

“The European Commission is delighted to again support the FEDORA Platform as part of Creative Europe. This European Union programme, exclusively dedicated to culture, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. In this context, FEDORA's funding to date and its renewal for the next 4 years reflect the organisation's exceptional commitment to pushing the boundaries of opera and dance, blending tradition and digital innovation to deliver dynamic, cutting-edge performances that resonate with new and younger audiences. The European Commission's investment strengthens FEDORA's ability to introduce new works, promote cultural diversity, and explore innovative business models while adopting sustainable practices, ensuring that opera and dance remain vibrant, relevant and accessible within a constantly evolving cultural ecosystem."

In conversation with Judith Videcoq, Head of Unit of Creative Europe

On the occasion of the Creative Europe programme’s 10-year anniversary and the start to the European elections, we took the opportunity to emphasise the important role culture plays in Europe and how the Creative Europe programme supports and nurtures European diversity, creativity and competitiveness.

Creative Europe Programme

Since 2014, Creative Europe has been supporting projects to foster cultural diversity, promote artistic expression, and boost the economic potential of the creative industries. Pushing boundaries is about finding new ways of artistic expression, how you redefine creating a work of art. Challenging boundaries is to challenge ourselves every day. Watch the video testimony with beneficiaries of Creative Europe, featuring the FEDORA Platform.
